RECORD SECRETARY'S REPORT FOR 1955 SEASON.
Mr. President and Gentlemen,
It is with pleasure that I submit for your information the following report of the 1955 Season.
The Season saw nineteen teams playing in the competition, two less than 1954, and three more than 1953. The strength of the Association was 4 A Grade, 4 Reserve, 3 B Grade, 4 Junior and 4 Junior Minor.
A new Club, Northern Suburbs joined the ranks in the Junior Minor Grade and recorded the enviable record of 67 goals for and one against in the competition fixtures, and an actual 80 goals for and one against for the Season. Keep up the good work lads.
A total of 335 active players were registered with the Association during the year. However, Clubs still have to be disciplined for failing to register some players. Again i t is necessary to appeal to Team Captains and Umpires to see that Team score cards are filled in correct, because these records are only as accurate as these score cards.
I feel these records would not be complete without some mention of the Ipswich v Brisbane game, when Ipswich defeated Brisbane by 3 goals to 2. The closest any previous team came to achieving this goal was in 1941, when Ipswich played a draw with Brisbane.
I wish to thank you all for your past support, and hope that Players, Clubs and the Association will enjoy a very successfu1 1956 Season.
H. K. PEDLEY,
Hon. Records Secretary!
